SARATOGA SPRINGS – Nacre Dance Group is pleased to announce an open audition for the Empire State Youth Dance Ensemble (ESYDE) for area dancers ages 13-19 at the School of the Arts Studios (99 South Broadway in Saratoga Springs, NY) on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
Modern Dance Audition will be from 12:45-2:15 and Ballet from 2:30-4:00 pm (please bring pointe shoes if on pointe). The short six week rehearsal schedule (Sundays) begins the weekend of January 15th until the performances on February 25th at the Universal Preservation Hall (2:30 pm and 7:30pm).
This year’s theme will be the Many faces of Dance. The program will feature modern dance classics Soaring (Doris Humphrey) and Bacchanal (Isadora Duncan – restaged by Beth Fecteau), and choreography by guest artists Johnny Martinez and Diane Lachtrupp of Tangofusion (Broadway dance), Solange Rodriquez (Hip Hop), Danielle Selby (Modern/Contemporary Dance) and Zachary Frazee (Classical Ballet).
Nacre Dance Group’s mission is to elevate dance through education and performance opportunities. This new program of Nacre Dance Group provides pre-professional training and performance opportunities in classical and contemporary dance to a select group of talented teenage dancers in the capital region through this annual audition.
