Fundraiser at Cantina & Piper Boutique Raises Over $7,500

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Fresh on the heels of being one of 11 recipients of $10,000 from Saratoga Casino Hotel’s Annual “Make a Difference Day” on “Giving Tuesday,” locally -based non-profit foundation Jake’s Help From Heaven (JHFH) continued with a robust fundraiser on their own. Thanks to the largesse of diners, donators and shoppers, JHFH garnered an additional $7,847 on the afternoon and evening of Wednesday, December 1.

The December 1 funds were obtained from a one-day combination of a long-standing popular event with a new one. JHFH has been the recipient of a special day at Cantina Restaurant’s “Cantina for a Cause” since that event began a decade ago. A generous percentage of ALL sales is donated by Cantina. Since 2011, Cantina For A Cause has donated over $116,000 to 35 local not-for-profit organizations. Over the years, the “Jake’s” day has become increasingly popular – a SRO Wednesday, with reservations during popular dinner and lunch hours being mandatory. December 1 was no exception.
This event was bookended on the same day, by a shopping fundraiser at Piper Boutique , in which a percentage of in-store and online sales was donated to JHFH.

Add it all up, and it’s been a banner last couple of days, supplying Jake’s Help From Heaven with the wherewithal to continue their mission of “supporting individuals with multiple medical challenges and disabilities.” You can’t help but feel good about that! Kudos all around.
