SARATOGA SPRINGS – According to their WEBSITE, the acronym PDT stands for Pomme De Terre, which is French for ‘Apple of the Earth.’ But based on what we saw and sensed on our sneak peek media tour last Friday, it could just as easily stand for: Presentation Done Tremendously!

The Market, at 55 Railroad Place, is scheduled to open shortly, and be advised, friends, to bring your shades with you on your first visit – for it is a given that you will be dazzled.

Chef/Owner Adam Foti: “We want to be Saratoga’s favorite place to eat, shop and learn–a familiar place that comforts all both inside and out.”

Our correspondent Jill Perkins had a full plate of photo ops. She observed: “With the fragrant aromas of lavender & lemon filling the air, PDT market boasts a luscious floral & garden department, specialty novelties & gifts, signature lines, deli, cafe, event catering, pre-made and made-to-order meals, small plates and tapas, fresh baked breads, loafs and baguettes, a pastry counter filled with muffins, macaroons, cheese cakes and cream puffs, charcuterie board building station, in person or online cooking classes and private chef prepared dinners. Take them out, or eat in with a glass of wine or a crafted cocktail.

“Inspired by global food markets abroad and here in the states, Adam and his dedicated staff have created a shopping experience to broaden your culinary palette.” Jill continued.” A haven for flavor and freshness, PDT market carries an immense variety of products and effortlessly transports you to an authentic Parisian market with all its delicacies, as well as the simplicity of your consistent neighborhood corner grocery store.

“But PDT is more than just a grocery store. Their motto: ‘Eat, Shop, Learn’ tells you that this is a destination, appealing to both your inner chef and finest culinary senses.”  She concluded.

Indeed, and speaking of learning – while you await the coming soon PDT opening, they are taking reservations for a full spectrum of culinary classes right now, with subjects ranging from Pasta 101, Tapas, Greek, Easter dishes, and more. A veritable feast! As is Jill’s gallery – enjoy!
