Lions Roar as Vendors Pour!

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Now this might sound a little strange, but the best compliment I can give to our local Pride of Lions is that on this evening – Friday, April 22, at the Ninth Annual Night at the Brewseum – they perfectly captured the spirit and feel of the previous, highly successful iterations. Oh, the absolute joy of rekindling a spirit of congeniality, and just plain fun, that had been gone for so long!
And yes, there were some enhancements. The sold-out gathering appeared to be treated to more raffle and silent auction items, for instance. But the brilliance lay in reviving the elements that made this event a standout in the first place.
Such as the setting: The Canfield Casino, in all its sun splashed and early evening glory. Such as the amount of choice beverage and food providers – retaining the emphasis on local/regional elevated the overall quality.
Whether this was your first time at Brewseum, or like many, first time in awhile, you came away delighted. Because the concept had been so well-refined through the years, lines never got long, and nobody appeared to run out of anything, despite the SRO crowd size.
Next year, for the 10th anniversary, perhaps they might throw in a few new things, but I would advise not too much, please. This event works excellently as is, as the happy faces above, and in the gallery below, attest.
One of the Directors of the Saratoga Lions, John McDonald, commented: “100% of the proceeds from our fundraiser will be used to support our service projects that support our community!”
Which is the best news of all. Kudos Lions! You have every reason to roar!
