UPDATE: 5/3/2022:

Home Made Theater regretfully announces that due to an outbreak of Covid-19 among the cast and crew, for everyone’s health and safety, the difficult decision has been made to postpone the second weekend of performances for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time.

The show has been rescheduled to new dates. Performances will be held Friday, May 20th at 7:30pm, and Sunday, May 22nd at 2:00pm and 7:30pm. The 7:30 performance on May 22nd will be the planned “sensory-friendly” presentation.

All are welcome to the “sensory-friendly” performance, though there will be some modifications to the performance to accommodate those susceptible to sensory overstimulation, such as reduced seating capacity.

The Home Made Theater box office will be contacting patrons to arrange either an exchange to one of the new dates, or a refund if desired.

SARATOGA SPRINGS – For two weekends, starting on Friday, April 29th, Home Made Theater will present The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, written by Simon Stephens, based on the novel by Mark Haddon.

15-year-old Christopher has an extraordinary brain: He is exceptional at mathematics but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched, and he distrusts strangers. Now it is 7 minutes after midnight, and Christopher stands beside his neighbor’s dead dog, Wellington, who has been speared with a garden fork. Finding himself under suspicion, Christopher is determined to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington, and he carefully records each fact of the crime. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a thrilling journey that upturns his world.

The Director and Scenic Designer of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time is Erin Nicole Harrington, who previously directed the HMT to Go production of The Beauty Queen of Leenane in 2019 at Caffè Lena. The artistic team includes Lighting and Projection Designer Kyle Van Sandt, Sound Designer Tom Moeller, Costume Designer Erin Fenton, Properties Designer Christina Toppin, and Stage Manager Christine MacLellan.

The cast of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time features Christopher Buettner as Christopher, Eric Rudy as Ed, Jennie Sinnott as Siobhan, and Elisa Verb as Judy. The cast is rounded out by an ensemble of six, including Marilyn Detmer, Laurie Larson, Michael J. Madsen, Elizabeth Parizh, Liam Pickett, and Rick Wissler, each of whom portray multiple characters.

Performances are April 29, 30, May 1, 6 & 7 at 7:30 pm and April 30th, May 7, and May 8, at 2 pm.  There will also be a Sensory Friendly, special technically toned-down performance at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, May 4th for those who are sensitive to sensory overstimulation such as those on the autism spectrum. All performances are at the Dee Sarno Theater, inside Saratoga Arts, 320 Broadway in Saratoga Springs. Tickets are available at Home Made Theater’s website, or by calling (518) 587-4427 during business hours.
For the safety of everyone masks must be worn at all times inside the building.
