“Cookout for the Backstretch” this **Sunday!**

UPDATE 3/11/22: Because of the pending heavy snowstorm, this party has been moved to Sunday, March 13, at 5 pm – see you there!

The NY Race Track Chaplaincy, for over a decade, has provided a Summer Enrichment Program in Saratoga in order to keep Saratoga families together during the racing season, and give the children an opportunity to experience a summer that some have never had before; away from the city and the track.

You can help make it happen!

This Saturday, March 12 at 5 p.m. , the Principessa Elena Society, 13 Oak Street, Saratoga Springs, will host a “Cookout for the Backstretch” to help prepare and improve the summer living quarters for Saratoga Race Course backstretch workers and their families at the Pine Grove cabins this racing season.

Hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage, sides and dessert will be served, plus live music. An appearance by 2016 Racing Hall of Fame inductee Ramon Dominguez is expected. Tickets are $20 advance; $25 at the door and each ticket will be entered in a drawing for two tickets to the Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park on Saturday, June 11.

If there is a snowstorm, the event will take place on Sunday, May 13 at 5 pm.

To reserve advance tickets, go to the bottom of this PAGE and make a donation of $20 or greater. Everyone with paid admission will receive a free pass to the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame pass (good through May 31.)

  1. I would absolutely be there if we weren’t out of town! It would be great to see everyone . I still want to be there in spirit and help support the Backstretch Cabins 2022.
