March 26 – ‘Lose the Winter Blues,’ a Benefit Concert for the TRF

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Nationally acclaimed blues singer/songwriters, Mark and Jill (Mark Tolstrup and Jill Burnham) are a powerful duo of American root blues meets soulful country Texas Smoke. In November 2021, Mark Tolstrup was introduced to Mr. William Douglas, a graduate of the TRF Second Chances Program in New York. On stage at Caffe Lena, at Truesongs 2021, the two shared William’s story and Mark introduced his original song “Horses And Men” inspired by William and the horses of the TRF. On March 26, from 6-9 pm, Mark and Jill will perform a concert including their song “Horses And Men” for the TRF friends and volunteers who will gather at the Principessa Elena Society (13 Oak Street). TRF’s Director of Major Gifts & Planned Giving, Kimberly B. Weir, enthusiastically opined: “We feel certain that an evening of soulful songs will help our audience “Lose the Winter Blues” while supporting the TRF Second Chances Program.”
A presentation about Second Chances will be delivered between Mark and Jill’s music sets. There will be a cash bar, and, this being the Principessa – food!
