BALLSTON SPA – LifeWorks Community Action provided over 1,200 Thanksgiving baskets from Corinth to Clifton Park with the help of community partners over the weekend. Altogether, this project helped approximately 5,500 people.
“We are as grateful as ever to our community for their support of their fellow neighbors and for ensuring that everyone can celebrate Thanksgiving with a hearty meal”, said LifeWorks Executive Director, Jo Anne Hume. “Support for our local food pantries is critical especially as food, gas and heating prices rise and the challenges from the pandemic persist.”
With the pandemic entering its second year, food insecurity has increased significantly throughout Saratoga County. LifeWorks has seen a (insert percentage) increase in demand for its annual Thanksgiving baskets, and the need for the food pantry continues to rise among community members.
Thankfully, our organization was able to count on our valued community partners, who dedicated their time to the cause. Fidelis Care and Val’s Sporting Goofs continued their tradition of sponsoring the bags for the produce while Quad Graphics helped out for the second year by donating boxes for the non-perishables as well as packing them.
Ballston Spa National Bank, Corinth Elementary School, The Salvation Army, the Presbyterian-New England Congregational Church and Harvest Church helped hand out baskets at their respective distributions sites.
In addition, many neighbors provided financial support to LifeWorks’s annual Adopt-A-Family Thanksgiving Basket Program. You can help make a difference today. Visit lifeworksaction.org/donate to learn more.
