Plant Wishing for America

SRO Gathering for CulinaryArts@SPAC’s Plant-Based ‘Fall Flavor Fusion’

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Some Presidents pardon a turkey or two. These folks want to give a reprieve to several entire species!

On the Cover: All smiles from the CulinaryArts@SPAC dream team. L to R: Chef Jehangir Mehta (Grafitti Earth); Chef Michael Blake (Yaddo); Elizabeth Sobol (SPAC); John Sconzo (Rascal + Thorn); Kim Klopstock (The Lily and the Rose). All photos (c) Lawrence White, provided by SPAC.

With the controlling concept of ‘What’s good for our planet shall also be pleasing to the palette’ a sold out gathering of progressive diners were treated to a five-course plant-based dinner dubbed “Fall Flavor Fusion.” The site was Saratoga Performing Arts Center’s Nancy DiCresce Room in the new Pines@SPAC facility on Saturday, November 20, and was presented by CulinaryArts@SPAC.

Special Guest Chefs Jehangir Mehta and Michael Blake collaborated with Chef-in-Residence Kim Klopstock on a festive autumn feast that featured plant-based courses juxtaposing temperatures, textures and tastes with flavors from all around the globe.

Even though the event was sold out, we saved a place for you at our table, via this lovely gallery provided by SPAC and Photographer Lawrence White. Enjoy it, and watch this space for details about the next CulinaryArts@SPAC-venture!
