Gallery: Chow Down to Benefit Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation
WILTON – Nice. Just nice…

Nothing fancy shmancy; no black tie (in fact – no tie at all!) – just regular guys and gals coming together in a soon-to-be-your-regular place for some good eatin’ – all for the love of Thoroughbreds and their after the races care. That, in a nutshell, is what occurred on the evening of August 11 – as a fundraiser was held to benefit TRF- Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation – at Simply food by Maura – just a few furlongs up Route 9 in Wilton.

The aforementioned Maura (seen above) has moved her tack (and spatula) up the road from the legendary 5 Points, and a quick scan of the menu (there’s a few of them – see them all HERE ) says that old friends and new are just going to love this new place – with all your favorite “Mad Sammies” and plenty more! On this evening, the kitchen was taken over by Chef and ace handicapper Michael Beychok, who brought his favorite New Orleans Gumbo recipe.
The host of this event was Pete Fornatale of In the Money Media, whose patronage ensured that 100% of the ticket sales on this evening went to the horses of TRF! Between that and some cool raffles, meant some serious hay for a great cause. Learn more about TRF HERE, and read about their next down home event – Tuesday, August 24’s BBQ at the Barn at the Saratoga Winery HERE. Enjoy the gallery!
