Fashion Show at Adelphi Benefits Saratoga WarHorse
SARATOGA SPRINGS – It is truly a pleasure to be able to write this post, on quite a few levels. The visuals alone make this apparent, and one could opine that fashion is as intrinsic an ingredient of a summer in Saratoga as anything else. So the Snider Fashion show assembled on Wednesday, July 21, in the gorgeous atrium at The Adelphi Hotel certainly had that going for it.
But it goes deeper. The proceeds of this event benefitted the Saratoga WarHorse Foundation, whose fine work (“…improving the physical, mental, and emotional health of Veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress by providing a healing, equine-assisted experience utilizing off-the-track Thoroughbreds,”) is essentially ‘Saratoga’ in nature, and also national in scope.
It goes even deeper. This day marked the squaring of another circle, in that I had intended to write something about Staci Snider and her progressive designer showroom and retail space (18 Congress St., Suite 3) back in March of 2020, when we all got drafted for a year or so of viral warfare that shut everything down. So, I feel incredibly blessed to just be here to be able to fulfill this promise.
And yet, still deeper.
More than a few years ago, I became familiar with the dynamo that is Staci Snider – when we were both trying to earn a living at another, semi-forgettable industry (for owners that were completely forgettable.) It was there that I received the first glimpses of Staci’s vision and drive.
All of which today manifests itself in her bringing a progressive, original designing studio (yes, she makes the patterns and cuts the fabric!) employing the best materials from NYC, Milan and other world fashion capitals; distilled into offerings that are sold worldwide, all from a shop where you can walk out with your selections, because it is located here, in the 12866 – Staci’s hometown!
If that’s not a success story, I don’t know what is. And the best part about this with Staci, there’s always next season, and the best is yet to come. Enjoy the gallery, and appreciate the attention to detail all around.
UPDATE – 8/2/2021: If you want to experience your own fashion show (with delicious refreshments) consider this auction item at Wednesday, August 4th’s Saratoga Hospital Gala:
