Third Annual Spring Shopping Spree

SARATOGA SPRINGS -The third annual Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association’s Spring Shopping Spree will be held May 6-9 in downtown Saratoga Springs. This weekend-long event will offer the local community a reason to explore this premier shopping and dining destination while supporting small businesses and shopping local. DBA businesses will be participating by offering amazing deals, in-store raffles worth at least $50, and more, throughout the weekend. Everyone who enters to win an in-store raffle is automatically entered to win the Grand Prize, which includes the following: an overnight stay for two at the Adelphi Hotel, a $150 gift certificate to Walt & Whitman Beer and Coffeehouse, a downtown parking spot for June and July, and a $100 DBA gift certificate. Free reusable shopping bags will be given away with qualifying purchases, while supplies last. The event is free to the public.

The Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association has partnered with The Charlton School in Burnt Hills for this event. Students at the school have created and donated art projects which will be the focus of a Spring Scavenger Hunt throughout the weekend. Every piece was designed using recycled materials. Scavenger Hunt participants are asked to download Scavenger Hunt forms from the DBA website and go to 15 locations for a sticker from each business. Once the form is completely filled, forms can be mailed to qualify for an enter-to-win drawing for a $100 DBA gift certificate to be used at DBA member businesses.

“The DBA is excited to welcome back our friends and customers for this exciting, safe, local shopping event,” said Deann Devitt, Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association President. “Our partnership with The Charlton School, and the display of their students’ creative artwork in fifteen of our member businesses for our Scavenger Hunt, is a valued contribution to this fun-filled weekend-long event for the entire family. Be sure to combine your shopping day with breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of our amazing restaurants!”

“The Spring Shopping Spree event will give our local community an opportunity to explore DBA retailers, restaurants, and merchants before the busy summer season and give them a sneak peek at new spring merchandise and menu items, while supporting a wonderful organization!” said Maddy Zanetti, co-owner of Impressions of Saratoga and Dark Horse Mercantile. “With over 20 member businesses participating, it promises to be a fun weekend!”
