Fall Tours; Kite and Flight Festival On Tap
Saratoga Independent School (S.I.S.) has some great activities for families this coming week:
Come visit Saratoga’s top-rated independent school, Saratoga Independent School (S.I.S.). S.I.S. provides an excellent education to students in Pre-K through Eighth Grade. Currently S.I.S. has a few open spots for the 2020-21 school year, while some grade levels have a waiting list. S.I.S. also encourages families to start thinking about the 2021-22 school year now to reserve a space.
On Wednesday and Thursday, November 4th and 5th, S.I.S. will host Fall Tour Days. During the Fall Tour Days, prospective families will have an opportunity to meet Lisa Brown, Head of School, as well as other faculty and staff in a safe way. Members of our faculty will take families on private tours of our campus from the outside, discuss our curriculum, and answer questions about our school. S.I.S. is also welcoming families to request a virtual tour of the school. This is an excellent opportunity to see what S.I.S. has to offer. For more information and to register, please visit www.siskids.org/admissions/open-house.cfm.
S.I.S. is also happy to schedule tours with families on any other day that is convenient.
Remote Kite & Flight Festival
(S.I.S.) has hosted its annual Kite & Flight Festival for many years. The greater Saratoga community has come to love this free, family event. This fall, S.I.S is excited to be able to host Kite & Flight in a reimagined way to comply with the health and safety measures put forth by New York State. This year’s Remote Kite & Flight Festival will provide local families the opportunity to embrace flight in a fun and creative way.
The two-part festival will feature a flight contest where children (and adults) are encouraged to design their own kite, rocket, or paper airplane. They will be able to submit their creation to S.I.S. for a chance to win “most creative” or “best flight.” All submissions will be featured on social media and winners will receive a flight-themed prize pack.
S.I.S. has partnered with Hudson Crossing Park for the second part of Kite & Flight: A Flight Trail. Families are invited to visit Hudson Crossing Park on November 7th and 8th to walk the nature trails while searching for flight facts along the way. The flight facts are curated by students from S.I.S.
Kite & Flight is a free event that is open to the public. More information about this year’s remote Kite & Flight, visit https://www.siskids.org/giving/kiteandflight.cfm.
