Nacre: Virtual Choreography

Nacre Dance Group offers Virtual Choreography Lab this fall for Local Dance Students

SARATOGA SPRINGS – This fall, Nacre will once again push the boundaries with an innovative educational experience for dance students and adults 14 years of age and older. They are bringing The Choreography Lab back, and this time it’s virtual. The lab begins November 1st.

The workshop consists of six sessions focused on providing the fundamental tools used to create movement. Students will receive individual instruction from professional choreographers as well as collaborate with other dance students.  The workshop is perfect for dance students looking to prepare a choreography piece for college, build a portfolio, or prepare extracurricular programming submissions.

Nacre Dance Group recognizes that these are unprecedented times and knows the importance using the arts to keep our community connected. “Students have become accustomed to learning virtually. We have designed a program that will allow them to express themselves creatively while continuing to learn the fundamentals of choreography,” said Beth Fecteau, Artistic Director of Nacre Dance Group. “It’s wonderful to see the level of creativity of our students as they create these amazing choreographed pieces.”

The virtual lab will use Zoom to provide large group, small group, and one-on-one instruction. Choreography Lab Alum, Sara said “The experience I had was very educational and also extremely fun.  Learning virtually was extremely convenient. I would highly recommend this program for anyone that is learning to improve their choreography skills or get some dance skills under their belt.”

Registration for the Virtual Choreography Lab is now open, and sessions begin November 1st and will run twice a week from November 1 – 18 (Sundays and Wednesdays), or once a week from November 1 – December 13 (Sundays).  For more information and to register, visit THIS PAGE or email info@nacredance.com.
